The 2008 China Logistics Festival will be held Chengdu November 12 -16, with the pre-event China Logistics Tour 2008 having already been launched from there and is now touring 10 top logistics hub cities in China.
At the first stop in Chengdu, delegates held a round-table to hear Chengdu's development plans, and to seek business opportunities and also took the opportunity to visit local logistics facilities.
Representatives from government, academic institutes, mega multi-national investors including Hina Group, Jones Lang LaSalle, Mapletree Logistics, and other logistics providers such as China Railway Container, China Railway Express, Kerry EAS, TNT and UPS also attended.
Chen Yongchang, chairman of China Communications and Transportation Association, said the logistics industry has become the locomotive of economic development in central and western China. Choosing Chengdu, the largest logistics hub in western region, can proactively attract investors from home and abroad to further stimulate regional growth, he said.
