EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.¡ªManagement Dynamics, a global trade management technology services provider, recently rolled out a new export compliance platform geared towards small and medium-sized exporters (SME).
Dubbed Export On-Demand, the company said it addresses all aspects of compliance by centralizing product compliance data, screening trade parties, and generating all required documentation, as well as establish a strong compliance program and augmenting team productivity to support increased export volumes without having to increase staff.
In an interview with LM, Nathan Pieri, Management Dynamics SVP, Marketing & Product Management said that the introduction of Export On-Demand is in response to a growing market need for export compliance.
¡°SME exporters need to exercise due diligence in order to remain compliant with US export laws, but can only afford to do so at a smaller price point than what typical enterprise systems costs,¡± said Pieri. ¡°Typical compliance software is designed for the major exporters that have substantial IT budgets to host the software within their own firewall, and perform customizations. Export On-Demand is designed to support full export compliance requirements, but is hosted by Management Dynamics. Companies will get all the benefits of having an export compliance system but won¡¯t have to pay the IT resource and infrastructure costs to support the system.¡±
When asked what the biggest benefits of Export On-Demand are for SME¡¯s, Pieri cited the ability to:
And when describing how Export On-Demand is targeted towards SME¡¯s and ways it can be leveraged and used, Pieri explained that
companies will get all the benefits of having an export compliance system designed from the programs of many of the top 100 global exporters, adding that many SME¡¯s are growing their international business model to expand into new markets and tap additional revenue pockets.
¡°Many SME¡¯s are very new to compliance and are looking for ways to quickly implement a program to support their growing business and exercise due diligence,¡± said Pieri. ¡°Export On-Demand provides this virtually out of the box with its fully loaded content repositories, business data integration tools, configurable screening options, and dashboards to manage exceptions. It is a compliance ¡®blueprint¡¯ to aid in implementing an export compliance program and is as close to plug and play as it gets.¡±
Small to medium-sized enterprises represent 97% of all US exporters; however, they typically do not have the resources to keep up with their company¡¯s globalization plans and adapt to the constantly changing landscape of export, noted a Management Dynamics statement. The statement also cited the Bureau of Industry & Security (BIS), as stating an Export Management and Compliance Program (EMCP) is an important tool for exporters to implement procedures and supporting systems to establish accountability and to stay in compliance with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
